What we do
The European Network of National Observatories on Childhood carries out two main kinds of activities:
- Analysis and research
The primary objective of ChildONEurope is to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and information among its Members and Associated Members. Most of the research activities are based on the drafting of questionnaires to collect and compare statistical data and information from the different States on the issues chosen by the Assembly.
To consult and download ChildONEurope's research, please go to section Issues.
ChildONEurope also organizes conferences and seminars on issues of special relevance concerning childhood and adolescence.
For a detailed list of all the seminars, please see the section Seminars.
- Documentation and communication
In carrying out its activities, ChildONEurope is supported by the documentation services offered by the Biblioteca Innocenti Library, which is one of the few in the world specialized in children's rights.
ChildONEurope activities and working documents are published and disseminated mainly through its web site: www.childoneurope.org, but also through reports, brochures and CD-ROMs . The website also offers a number of services concerning documentation and information on childhood-related aspects, such as an updated list of conferences and other relevant events and a section on EU programmes and calls for tenders that may be related to childhood.
The Secretariat also has information links with other international governmental and non- governmental organizations working on childhood-related issues.
